passionxproject
If you don't follow me on twitter or speak to me often, then you wouldn't know this year has been rough for me in a lot of ways. One of the major ways was that I was feeling like I was in a rut. I didn't feel passionate about anything and I really wasn't excited to wake up and do anything (not even post on this blog which is why it has been barren for quite some time). I started reaching out to people I felt like I could trust and asking them what they found passion in and a lot of times I got vague answers and started feeling even more frustrated.
As someone who has suffered through some pretty bad ruts in the past, I was determined not to let this one get me. I started journaling more and trying to figure out what I was passionate about. After tons of brainstorming I literally only could come up with curating a dope Instagram. As vain and shallow as it sounds that was it. I truly enjoyed going out on weekends and finding a great spot and taking pictures solely for Instagram. So I told myself to explore that.
I started writing down various themes and other things I could make the Instagram about and to be fair I already have a cooking/baking Instagram that I completely neglect. But hey, if curating a dope Instagram was what I was passionate about, I was going to ride the wave. Eventually I came up with a name @passionxproject and I decided to hoard it on Instagram so that when I got serious about it, it would be there.
I also decided that since I wasn't passionate about anything, I could find out about people's passions and maybe somehow through this process, it would lead me to mine. It's only been a few weeks and I've only spoken to a few people but I've already received well wishes and compliments about what I'm doing. I'm not sure if I've found my passion yet, but I was told that maybe my passion is learning more about the passions of others and I should continue to explore this.
I'm having a lot of fun, I'm breaking out of my comfort zone because I'm going up to strangers and I'm learning things about people that I wouldn't have otherwise. I hope you all follow @passionxproject on Instagram and keep up with my journey. And if you want to see more of what people tell me rather than just the excerpts I post on Instagram, let me know and I can share the full interviews here.
